The first schools from Hawai‘i to EVER compete in the National Science Olympiad Tournament!

Shae Ideue (left) of Highlands Intermediate School and Crystal Maeshiro (center) of Farrington High School represented all 3,000 participating students by reading the Science Olympiad pledge during the opening ceremony at the George Washington University. They are accompanied by Kathy Melvin, the 2008 tournament director.
